Six volt resisters in a 12 volt system

I have a ceramic resister between the switch and the coil. My wiper motor is 6 volts, do I use the same resister there, and other possible areas? Will one resister handle more than one item?

No. That one is made for the coil only. It will start off putting out almost full voltage and drop the voltage as it warms up. Full voltage for cold starts then lower to make the points last longer as it is not needed as car warms up.

Gentlemen, would doing this to the fluid drive trans, also work? Adding a resistor(s) to the tranny, make it shift(work) as it use to? Thanks for you time and knowledge
