I have finally put paint on my 50 Plymouth wagon. We have been working on it since early last December. The colors are a 60 Plymouth color from a 60"s color chart. the bottom is going to be the turquoise metallic. The top is Oyster white. We have been blocking for what seem weeks but now we are ready to close things up and wait for nice weather so I don't have to run the heater continuously. As soon as we get the car done I will post the finished pics. But for now........we wait.

just about there myself.  Have to wet sand the doors and front fenders then the color goes on the jambs, under hood/trunk, inner fenders and bottom of the car.  Looking forward to it.

Looking forward to it.(quote of casper)

Finally some fun! Love it myself when all the work starts to look good that everyone can see! Most people o ly notice this part, but other old car lovers know what it took to get it to the great looks!

I certainly do.

In taping anything I always start with 1/4"tape to start. This is because you can turn the tape into tighter corners. Then go over with a wider tape till you cover what you have to.

If the chrome strip is held on with sheet metal screws, it would be so much easier to just take them off.

Sorry.......after reading what you said I thought you were talking about a chrome strip in the fenderwell............Now I see you said the WELTING!!

The welting has been scotch brited to allow it to accept paint. It will be the same color as the body. I got it from Julianos and they said if you took off the shine ,paint will adhere.
