Labrauer Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 I have a couple of questions for you all as my brain doesn't seem to want to work today. I am wanting to adjust the valve tappets in a 48 Plymouth 218 motor and in one of my books it says to adjust the intake when at normal operating temp and should be set at .10 and also .10 for the exhaust. In another book I have it says to adjust them as intake .08 and exhaust at .10 and if the car is going to operate at high speeds for a long period of time the exhaust should be set at .012 with the engine running and hot. I am confused which is right? Second question is looking from the front of the engine which valve tappets are exhaust and which ones are intake? I am not real sure which is which and if someone could tell me if the first is intake and the second is exhaust and so on I will appreciate it. Maybe in a picture starting from the front of the engine Thanks as always for the responses and help, Larry Quote
