Your work looks great. Does the tank now vent into the trunk? Do you notice any fumes when you open the trunk?

there was no vent on the filler tube at all which surprised me. I just purchased a new cap and will monitor from there. Car is stripped now, getting it ready for a new coat of primer so I have not driven it yet. Trying to get it decent enough to take to the Riverside Show "n" Go April 22-23

If your car stops running, and there is a great sucking sound when you open the gas cap, you may have a problem.   The problem has been posted before.

My 47 DeSoto has a vent tube along the filler tube (it whistles when I put the gas in, until the gas gets to toe the top of the filler tube).  And the cap is vented.

Thanks for the info Don, I have had the car quite a while and have had no problems but an easy fix if needed.

thx again Rich
