ruff1148kr Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 Going over to the truck at storage unit next week and going to see if I can remove a few leaf springs currently 8 leafs on there and need to lower rear a little, I'm gathering up a few things prior so I will not be in the middle of it and not have something does anyone know what size or type or grade of bolt is used in the Center of the leaf let me know thanks Quote
The Oil Soup Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 I would say that grade 8 couldn't hurt since the u bolts hold it together once it's installed. Quote
Fowl Jeff Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 I used a G8 I got from Tractor Supply. Ground the head round so it seated properly. Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 Keep in mind that failure of this bolt/pin will cause an unpleasant experience. Your vehicle doing a crab walk while going down the road is no fun. Use grade 8 hardware. I never understood why anyone wants to lower a vehicle but that is just my opinion. Quote
ruff1148kr Posted February 22, 2016 Author Report Posted February 22, 2016 did they use 3/8 or 5/16th bolt? anyone know? Quote
ruff1148kr Posted February 23, 2016 Author Report Posted February 23, 2016 Thanks alot will pick some up prior Quote
