BobT-47P15 Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 It was rather hot out this morning at the salvage place, but we got the dash, heater and numerous other pieces separated from Mr. Cowl. Got one door hinge, but will have to go back for the others. Son-in-law Dale helped me, or did I help him? There are a few other oldies in the place, but no Plyms or Dodges or Chryslers. Has about a half dozen of these square T Birds. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 Check out the 50 Stude Champion..appears to be a 4 door.. Quote
John Mulders Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 Sounds like fun Bob, but what are you going to do with it? I thought your P15 is fine? John Quote
Phil Martin Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 Bob T have you ever been to bbBrowns Auto Salvage at Cabool,Mo? You wouldn't believe the old cars and trucks he has in his yard. Quote
Normspeed Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 Those cars look pretty complete still. The Tbird (58?) still has the trim and taillight lenses. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 8, 2007 Author Report Posted July 8, 2007 Answers to above questions are: Yes, Tim, that Stude is a 4 door. John....I bought that dash and stuff mainly for spares. He charged me $25 for the whole thing. When we got it home, son-in-law began looking at the heater. It had a very clean looking fan motor in it.....and it runs faster and better than my current fan. He also took apart and cleaned up the blower control switch.....now it works on all 3 speeds. So I probably got my money's worth right there. Also has some other possibly usable parts. Phil...no, have never been to that salvage yard, sounds like a place to visit. Is it easy to find? Norm(speed)....those T-Birds were fairly complete. There is even one convertible. There used to be quite a few salvage yards around here with old cars, including Chrysler products, but they have disappeared over the years. So now, I figure any stuff I find I will try to get. I had bought some other parts off the coupe from which these things came, then he cut off the cowl and scrapped the rest of the car. I'm trying to get the rear axle and a fender from one of these cars, owned by some people in Kansas. But they are in no hurry to sell.....so will just keep checking with them. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 Bob T anything and I mean anything that you can find for your car you have to stock pile. The old car hobby is getting very slim. You have to have spare parts as you never know what might happen:) I like those pic's all are my favorite's Stude, t-bird and you said there was a convertible , that's to die for:D Quote
