Hi Guys

I have been looking for a Back up/Reversing light for my P15 4 door. I have seen 2 advertised, both in about the same condition 1 is $99 + Shipping to the UK + tax = $149, the other $13.88 + shipping. The $99 one is advertised for Dodge/Desoto/Chrysler/Plymouth but, the $13.88 one is advertised just for Desoto and the fitting chart says it won't fit my P15. However they both have the same part number CB14094. I don't have a part number book, can anybody help and tell me if this is the right part number for my car? are they all the same fitting/part Number?

Thanks in advance.

Pete

Pete,

I think it is time for a Happy Christmas with crackers and crowns.  Therefore, please look at your Private Messages.  There is something there that will make you rather happy.  The information you are looking for is something that I looked up 5 years ago. :)

Happy Christmas sir!

And in case anyone else was wondering, here is the information that he was looking for.  The CB14094 is a Chrysler number.  And it looks like the second screenshot.  I have one that I'm putting in my car.  It is in my parts archive.

One more thing I found in my travels was the following.  I wondered where the dickens the light hooked up to switch wise.

not sure just what year the transmission cases was provided with the back up light switch hole drill, threaded and plugged for later install or provided with a switch if factory installed..am thinking that the P15 was not so endowed..I know my stock 47 Dodge high line Town Sedan Custom with factory installed reversing light was still hand activated from a switch mounted on the dash..the book does not provide this data...the threaded boss will be at the rear of the selector assembly as mounted on the left side of the case   if the schematics are an indicator then it would be the 1949 P18 and up

That would be unfortunate.  I'll walk under the car when it is on the lift and examine the OD that isn't in and the tranny that is under.  I just assumed that they were all the same.  Good call sir.
