bighammer48 Posted September 4, 2015 Report Posted September 4, 2015 Hi there, I bought an oil filter and its tubing from eBay because my 231 had none. Does anyone have a picture showing the tubing connections to the engine details? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 4, 2015 Report Posted September 4, 2015 there is a very well laid out diagram of the oil filter and it's plumbing in the repair manual....look under engine, then oiling system Quote
Merle Coggins Posted September 4, 2015 Report Posted September 4, 2015 I'm assuming what you have is a by-pass filter assembly. Since there are several different manufacturers and styles of filter I suggest that you verify which port is the inlet and which is the outlet. I also wonder if your 231 is a long block version (25" engine). And if it is, does it have a diamond shaped boss on the lower block skirt? That would indicate that it is set up for a full flow filter system. Anyway, this is how my Deluxe filter is plumbed; The upper connection is the oil pressure "feed" that would go to the "Inlet" of the filter. The lower connection is the "return" that would come from the "Outlet" of the filter. Quote
bighammer48 Posted September 4, 2015 Author Report Posted September 4, 2015 This is my filter exactly. Thanks for the pictures and help. Quote
bighammer48 Posted September 4, 2015 Author Report Posted September 4, 2015 Also, I see no diamond-shaped character on the engine skirt. Quote
