plymouthcranbrook Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) Despite my fervent efforts I have been unable to locate the specs for the steering box on my 52 Cranbrook. It is low and while my gut reactions says 90 wt oil, I wanted to check. Can't find it in my manual or anywhere here. This must have been discussed somewhere before, I just cannot find it. Help please. Edited August 21, 2015 by plymouthcranbrook Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 it is clearly specified in the book in the lubrication section...look at the chart..close to upper right hand side...the print is small I will assure you...but just look for the picture...FGL-90 same as your tranny... Quote
plymouthcranbrook Posted August 21, 2015 Author Report Posted August 21, 2015 Thank you. I am old and not as clear of site as I once was. I will look tomorrow to make sure I know where to look next time. Quote
plymouthcranbrook Posted August 22, 2015 Author Report Posted August 22, 2015 Found it, looked elsewhere as I said, even found out the right weight for power steering in a 54. Oh well, thanks again. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 many times folks will look in the repair section of the book and not see these lubes listed....sometimes they are...sometimes not..however the lubrication section has not let me down for the most part....for the 54 year....the PS is covered but the auto tranny is not nor is the PB setup..the book was in print prior to introduction of a few items....thus incomplete and often one either downloads or buys the mid year supplements or opt for reading the 55 service manual.
