joenailer Posted August 19, 2015 Report Share Posted August 19, 2015 Hey Braintrust, just about finished with a total rewire and brake update. really would like to get away from the foot start and go to a solenoid driven starter. Can't for the life of me locate a part number of a starter that will work with my 218. I know its fairly common. 6v is fine, just need to know what will work. OR is there a part number for a centrifugal bendix to convert my foot starter? wayfarer Posted August 21, 2015 Report Share Posted August 21, 2015 Starters by themselves interchange as a unit. You can use a later truck or pass car wiring layout for the solenoid. pflaming Posted September 12, 2015 Report Share Posted September 12, 2015 I put in a car starter, works great. I googled solenoid starter wiring diagram and printed out one. Works great!
