GEE Mr Adams did I ask that question before? As I'm an old guy aND not very good at this tech stuff. Had to have my 13 you grandaughter get me signed up for the forim.was just trying to learn something helpful to get this car going again. It's a rolling shell that previous owner was going to cut up for scrap.didn't mean to get folks in an uproar.just looking for info

You can set notification preferences in your profile to be notified either via this forum or via e-mail every time someone makes a reply to a thread or posting you are following. Simply check all boxes of how you would like to be notified. Use of this feature spurs the memory of all of us old guys. I also suggest you explore all the features available on this forum such as RESOURCES section found on the tool bar near the top of this page. Many questions can be answered by reading all the information found there. And of course the forum search function can be your best friend when researching an issue. Also the webmaster has this forum set up in such a way that doing a search using a search engine such as Google will display results posted in this forum. I personally use all of these search features prior to asking a question to avoid repetitive questions and answers on the forum. Hope this information is useful to you.

When using the search here on this site be sure to hover, and click on the little cogged wheel at the right to get the "advanced search".  That will open a page that will help you to search the entire site.

Starting your own topic (thread) as you have with your engine question, is often the best way to go. Even if it has been discussed before. When asking a question in another topic/thread your question often gets lost/not seen. When a fender thread goes off subject to a seat discussion it may not be seen by those who may help out.

Haven't had a chance to get on BIG computer yet. Thanks for all the tech stuff. My car measures 55 inches door post to door post so something less than that may fit.probably have to raise it up some way.

Gidday Tom from sunny South Grafton, New South Wales, Australia.........getting back to your original request regarding a seat, from what I understand of mopars the split bench seat is the same pretty much from 1940 thru to at least 1948 in both Plymouth and Dodge for all the 2dr versions, ie, 2 dr Sedan, Business Coupe, Club Coupe and Convertible......I would also think that some if not all DeSotos and Chryslers within the 1940-48 period should be very close also, seat adjuster handles and general seat upholstery patterns will certainly differ but I would look for those also as a possible seat that could be used...I'd be surprised if the actual seat mounts would differ to much also........anyway welcome aboard, these guys know their mopar stuff and don't worry about threads and things.........lol......regards, Andy Douglas

Tom...these are an Oz only 1975 Leyland P76 bucket seat in my 1940 Oz Dodge 4dr Sedan, I made the mounts, by the same token this is the original seat that was in the 1941 Plymouth Coupe that I used to own......thought I had more seating pics........andyd
