400mphpc Posted July 11, 2015 Report Posted July 11, 2015 Where are you guys buying your tie rod ends? I need to replace both inner and both outer. Just looking for a solid source at a decent price. You guys using Moog or prefer a different brand? 1950 Dodge Wayfarer Thanks for the support, Chris Quote

Dave72dt Posted August 31, 2015 Report Posted August 31, 2015 MOOG numbers ES158L, ES158R, at least for the right side, wouldn't be surprised to find them the same for the left. Base numbers pretty much the same for all the manufacturers, prefixes and suffixes may be different. Premium and value line product may not use the same prime numbers but the MOOG numbers will work in their interchange. Example: CARQUEST value line for those parts would be DW-ES158L, DW-ES158R, premium would start with 401-followed by a 4 digit number. Quote
desoto1939 Posted August 31, 2015 Report Posted August 31, 2015 Just looed in my McQuay Noriis suspension catalog and here are the numbers that are used for your Tierod ends. The numbers will be used across all manufacturuers. Dodge 1939- 53 All 6 cyl models Right rod right side ES60R left Side ES60L For Left rod Right side ES-131R for Left side ES131L Also checked my Toledo Steel catalog and got the same numbers If you search on Ebay you will find these Rich HArtung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
Dave72dt Posted August 31, 2015 Report Posted August 31, 2015 Rock Auto is where I found the numbers I posted. Take the numbers Rich posted to your local auto supply store. You may find they supercede to another number. either way, your local auto parts store should be able to source them for you also. 1 Quote

Local parts house is showing these numbers listed in your post for a 1949 Wayfarer. Not showing a listing for left side outer. Looking at what's on the car I don't see a difference. I think I'll get 2 ES158L and 2 ES158R and see if this fits the bill. Quote
jrhoads Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 I think I'll get 2 ES158L and 2 ES158R and see if this fits the bill. That should be exactly what you need. I just did this 2 weeks ago and found the best price on Amazon. My 3 cents. Quote
