dvalentine Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Hi, folks. Can you help? Have a 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe Club Coupe, which has been sitting for about 3 years. Started it up a couple months ago and found that it pulls hard to the right when the brake is applied firmly. (Should mention that the mc was nearly empty before startup, no leaks found.) Inspected both front brakes (rebuilt 20 years ago) and right side seemed good, while left side shoes were heat-glazed. Put new wheel cylinders and flex hose on left, and had shoes relined and drum turned, while leaving right side alone. First test drive was ok - brakes worked as desired. About 25 miles later, the problem reappeared (pulled hard to right), nearly putting us in the ditch. Any ideas? Thank you. Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 What procedure did you use to adjust your brakes? Did you bleed the entire system? Quote
RobertKB Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 What procedure did you use to adjust your brakes? Did you bleed the entire system? I agree. Whole system probably needs bleeding. Also, when doing brakes I tend to do both side at the same time. If one side is bad, the other is not far behind. Quote
dvalentine Posted July 1, 2015 Author Report Posted July 1, 2015 Used a Gregg- Gauge, but didn't bleed the whole system. Will try that. Thank you. Quote
Ulu Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Are you sure fluid didn't leak on the new left side shoes in that first 25 miles? Quote
dvalentine Posted July 2, 2015 Author Report Posted July 2, 2015 will check that out too. thank you. Quote
