oldmopar Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I know we all have heard the term barn fresh but since this was stored in a chicken coop I figured I would use the correct title fortunately there were no chickens stored with it. The last time it was on the road was 1968-69. I purchased the truck from the original owner's family. I do not have any other Pilot House trucks but do have a 46 WD21 also waiting restoration but I liked the idea of being the 2nd owner of a 49 truck. The truck s basically complete it has the 9' bed and even has the original spare tire holder under the bed. The truck has much surface rust some rust out spots but not a lot. The doors and windows will need a lot of work and the condition of the engine and drive train are unknown. for now here are a few photos Ed http://oldmopar.com/49B1D/49B1Dpics.html Quote
Bob_Koch Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Looks like a great restoration project. Glad you could save this one from the chickens. Quote
Falcon(63) Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Oldmopar, that is a workable truck. Good project. Quote
greg g Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Looks like chicken manure has almost as much corrosive stuff in it as horse exhaust. I had my car stored in a barn that also had a couple horses living there. Finish looked almost the same after 10 years. Good luck with yer new diversion. Quote
