Hi, I have found that my 1950 Dodge Wayfarer has had it's polarity changed and now is negative earth (still on the 6V battery).

I need to buy some new cables, so would I contact them as before or do I need to change them around?  i.e. should I use the battery strap as per below to connect the negative terminal to earth or am I better using cables all round?

Hi Simon

The 6v cables need to be thicker than 12v, as you are still 6v don't change them for 12v cables. Your original cables should be ok unless you need to change them around because of colour ie;red (pos) and black (neg). The flat braided cables are usually used as an extra earth from engine to chassis which is a good idea.

If everything is working why would change it back? Why do you need to replace the cables? Look at the other current thread concerning switch from pos to neg earth. Assure your coil is wired correctly for which ever way yours is connected.
