ledfootslim Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 First, here are some pics as requested of Lady Grey out and about on this pleasant day. And now to the matter at hand- or underfoot, you might say. After considerable finagling she is running better and more reliably, so now I am trying to attain fourth gear. If anyone could show me what two wires go to the kickdown located on the carb, and where they go on the transmission, that would be great. 1948 Desoto S-11, stock to the bone, with I'm guessing the tip-toe shift? 1 Quote

Labrauer Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 I don't know what would make your drive any better as I would love to be on the roads that you have in the pictures. Love those old country roads where there isn't any concrete or asphalt. 1 Quote

When I lived in Tx you could drive About 90-100 miles north on 181 and end up in San Antonio or you could take the FM roads which always started out as asphalt, but usually ended up as dusty white clay or dirt ruts with a turn around on someones property..lol...that takes about 200 plus miles to get to the same destination......but much more fun. Caliche, I think is the name of the white road....dusty when dry.... a gooey slide into the ditch ride when wet! Quote
1940plymouth Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 Just love the dirt roads in my neck of the woods 2 Quote

I do like dirt roads, except for the fact that my grey car is generally brown up to beltline, and I have to go around periodically and tighten everything that has loosened off from constant rattling. :-) Quote
