A local collector has a '46 about like this. It's not quite as nice, close, but not quite. Of course, it is original, never restored. I'll have to get a picture next time I see it. They borrowed my brake adjusting tools to put new brakes on it recently.

That's mighty purty,...and way outta my price range.

 

Maybe the top mechanism might have a worn/loose hinge though. Seems like it should lie flatter above the side windows.

The top frame and weatherstripping sits correct on the side windows.

 

The center top bows are curved upwards a bit too much and also the top might have been cut narrow.

 

A nice car though. They are my favorite cars.

 

Know them well.

I think you are right about the top being too narrow. There was a gap at the top of the corner of the vent window you could stick your finger through.  But I would still take it for free.
