Mark D Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 My uncle called me, said he was buying a new car, he was getting tired of the old one. Heck it was a 2005 and he was getting tired of the old truck. My uncle is a batchelor and lives close to town, and I guess he rarely needs to drive. So I went over it and bought the truck on the spot for the nada book value, no negotiation required. My wife and I bought a house in North Carolina this spring, our future early retirement pad. We figured if we had a vehicle down there it would make it easier to fly in and out which would give us the ability to visit more often. I intend to leave it on the battery tender. We'll give a set of keys to one of our close friends so they can start it once a month. Watch for this truck on Mecum's auto auction in about 7 years. It'll be the one that has less than 10,000 miles. 5 Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 I wonder what a body shop will charge to pound out the front license tag? Nice buy! Quote
Mark D Posted October 13, 2014 Author Report Posted October 13, 2014 Thankfully the tags travel with the owner in Mass. It'll sport fresh NC tags soon. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Looks good from here. A virtually new 05 model. Cool. Quote
pflaming Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Hey, why not park it at the camp in Maine. Then I would have something to tool around in after my wife drops me off, she is gone and I am relaxing. LOL Quote
Mark D Posted October 16, 2014 Author Report Posted October 16, 2014 Nah, I'll just have to drop you off in bath after your visit. Quote
Captain Neon Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 I bought a '98 Dakota w/ 152K myself back in August. I cleaned him up, fixed a few things, and have been driving him to work every day. He will be my winter wheels, and maybe, just maybe, the transmission may find its way into my '46 more door when the motor craps out or the body rots away. It's kind'a fun having a truck of my own. I had been missing my Jeep since selling him two years ago. 1 Quote
