Dennis Hemingway Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 I took my engine out, as there is one right behind the steering box. Then drove a self taping screw into the plugs and pried it out with a pry bar hooking onto the screw head. We then but the power washer nozel in all of the holes and plasted it untill the water ran clear. Then I used a socket and hammer to put the new plugs back in. Dennis Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Another way to get them out is just drive a screwdriver into the center of them, then pry the plug out. My engine was out of the car for the rebuild when I did it. Those plugs are not hard steel. They are soft and easy to drive the screwdriver into. Getting at all of them with the engine in the car will be the hardest part, especially the one in the rear of the engine. As Dennis mentioned, putting new ones back in is easy, just tap it in. Don't hit them too hard though. Quote
TodFitch Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 I removed mine the same way Dennis did. When you install the new ones be sure the seat is clean and use some sealer on the edges of the new plugs. Quote
