The new Elvis movie released today, "The Identical" has two scenes with a '49 Suburban. The first scene is around 24 minutes in, with the car sitting in front of the Honky-Tonk. The second scene is a few minutes after with Elvis and his dad sitting in it talking before leaving said Honky-Tonk.

Looks just like the one in my garage .................................. because it is !

That is too cool!  Did they borrow it and "pay" you with the notoriety, or did they actually rent it?  Did you pimp yourself out to drive?

Our D24 was "used during the filming of" a remake of Lolita, with Jeremy Irons and Dominique Swain when they shot scenes around El Paso, San Elizario, and Salt Flat (all TX) in '96.  Made a good chunk of change renting it to the production company for a total of 6 weeks, and even got paid for driving it and other old cars.  My wife even has a cameo (sort of).  She's sitting inside the '40 Ford Woody while its stopped at a gas station.  We know exactly which scenes our car was in - but every one wound up on the cutting room floor, and it wasn't released in U.S. theaters because the story is basically about Hubert Humbert (I think), played by Jeremy Irons, being a pedophile.  Oh well, the experience was fun, and eye opening on how they make movies.

The production company rented it for a couple of months, actually from the previous owner. When I bought the car he informed me the production company said it may be in a few scenes, depending on editing. I was surprised to see it used in scenes with the main characters.

Good to see an old Mopar instead of the standard Ford and Chevy.
