Don Coatney Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 But having never planned on having either type of violation, I haven't really looked into it. Do you think there are folks who do make plans on collecting such violations? For example California requires two rear view mirrors but many "restored to original" cars don't have that. But I've never seen or heard of equipment violation citations being issued. My impression is that a lot of people in law enforcement are sympathetic to old cars and their owners. By two mirrors is that two outside mirrors or one outside and one inside? The D-24 that I road shotgun in on the cross country trip had no outside mirrors. That is another reason I did not want to drive that car as I am lost without any outside mirrors. My wife on the other hand does not know how to back up using outside (or inside) mirrors. But I trust her going forward driving more so than a lot of drivers I see on the road. Quote

Two mirrors one of which has to be on the outside of the driver's side of the car if I recall the wording properly. Quote
