builtfercomfort Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Not sure about your year, but I know in 1939 there was only one dash sheet metal piece made for Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, & DeSoto. Different trim and gauges of course. So if you can find any same-year Mopar trim to borrow or look at closely, you may find it will work. Quote
casper50 Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 I saw a set of fender trim on ebay today. 250 I think Quote
40desoto Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 I believe there was a 1947-1948 Chrystler in a pick a' part junkyard in Monrovia, CA a few weeks back. Seems to have quite a bit of trim left on the car. If your local to the area let me know Ill keep an eye out for a parts car etc for you. Quote

I own a 39 Desoto can you expound upon what you are trying to reference> Are you talking anout the small dash panel that is under the main dash where the steering column goes throught and has all of the various dash control knobs? or are you talking about the radio grillthat would have been in the middle section of the dash. I do know that the 39's all used the same Philco radio that had the dial on the left and the preset push buttons on the right. Also different glove box lids and the clocks when in the glovebox lid. I have a factory clock in my 39 desoto in the glovebox door. These are real rare items. The glass is perfectly flat an not like the plymouth with the bubble. Rich HArtung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
Lakermatt Posted March 25, 2014 Author Report Posted March 25, 2014 I found a 1946 Chrysler in a local Junkyard. so the outer windshield moulding for this car will work with my Desoto? I found the bumpers, now all I need is the front and back glass. 1 Quote
builtfercomfort Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 The main dash sheet metal is all the same in 1939, I believe. Most of the trim differs by model. Quote
builtfercomfort Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) I found a 1946 Chrysler in a local Junkyard. so the outer windshield moulding for this car will work with my Desoto? I found the bumpers, now all I need is the front and back glass. What I'm suggesting is that it might fit, not that it will. If cheap, or you can return it, it's worth a try.
