BobB Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 I've found a replacement passenger side door latch assembly for my '52 B3B, but there doesn't appear to be enough clearance with the window regulator mechanism. It's looking like I need to remove the bolts holding the window assembly so that I can push it toward the outside making enough room to push the interior door handle through. I'd rather not get into the window if I can help it. Any advice would be appreciated. thx Quote
52b3b Joe Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 (edited) If I remember right from mine, its even kind of a tight fit without the window and mechanism in. I think you are going to have to take the mechanism out. Its really not that hard to do. You can try to just remove the glass by taking the two clips (or retainers as they call them) off then sliding the glass out. Then you could try the window mechanism in different positions to see if you can get the latch in. If not then, just take the window mechanism out. If it were me, I would just take it all out to avoid breaking the glass, or bending the window or latch mechanism causing more frustration. Edited October 8, 2013 by 52b3b Joe Quote
BobB Posted October 8, 2013 Author Report Posted October 8, 2013 Wow, didn't expect the forum to be so quick. thanks for your insights. It's great to hear from somebody who has done it. Quote
manfromtarsus Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 I am having a similar problem. I was able to get the window out. What I have been unable to do is remove the door latch mechanism/remote control going to the door handle. Any suggestions out there? Quote
ggdad1951 Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 If I remember right it took a little "umpf" to remove and reinstall. Make sure ALL the books are out! Quote
