Don Coatney Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 But I did take a boat ride yesterday. I connected with a long lost cousin who I have not seen in over 15 years. He lives in Jersey but has a summer home on Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Pictured are Cousin George, his beautiful wife Phyllis, and I. The weather was great (a few rain drops as we headed back in). The boat is a 30-foot something with a big cheby V-8. George bought the boat in Atlantic City and drove it home. Quote
1just4don Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 I used to like boats, but that was a lifetime ago and not sure the body would like them now as well as years ago. I used to like to water ski. Guess my skiing days are over. Driving a boat home has to be quite a feat!! And you were completely correct, that middle person definitely is a charming beautiful lady!!! I can see family resemblance between you two guys. What a trio to draw too. A good looking 'set'!!! Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 27, 2007 Author Report Posted May 27, 2007 I can see family resemblance between you two guys. Don; Here is the family resembelance. The father of Georges first wife and my mother were half brother and sister. So George was a first cousin by marriage only and that marriage no longer exists. I call him my cousin but at best we are good friends. Quote
1just4don Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 Just kidding but better check the family tree again for a indiscreet branch, maybe. You two have a striking resemblance. Even way back when, I am sure their were,,,affairs of the heart!! Loocally their are several people who have striking similarities, even in their laugh etc. makes one wonder since they are not even related,,,or are they??? Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 27, 2007 Author Report Posted May 27, 2007 Here is one for the books. My friend Don Coatney (no prooven family connection) lives about 15 miles from me. Our signatures even look the same. Quote
PatS.... Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 As far as boats go, I agree with comedian John Pinette...if it doesn't have a casino and a buffet, it's not seaworthy!!!! http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2013779324 http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2013780886 Quote
greg g Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 The TV news had a deal about boating over the long weekend. Fellow was filling up his cruiser for a jaunt up the canal to lake Ontario. Gas at the Marina was $3.70, boat had twin 400 gallon tanks. $1480.00 fillup....hope it last past Monday. Always did enjoy a sailboat. Quote

Always did enjoy a sailboat. Greg; I did not ask the cost of fuel for the boat I was on. But I learned it took more than a full tank to travel (100 miles or knots) from Atlantic City to the Maryland summer home. They ran out about two miles or so from home and had to catch a tow. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 This is my idea of a boat. Dennis:D Quote
