47dodgepu211 Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 My 1947 Dodge WC pickup is mostly together. The tailgate has no chain brackets right so I will need to fabricate them from scratch. Does anyone have a photo of one and the dimension from the center of the hole to 1. the outer (Dodge side) of the gate and 2. the distance from the center to either the hinge tube center or to the top tube center. The fabricator will only have the tailgate. Without the sides, we only have one shot at it . I have the sides, he has the tailgate so it's a tossup if it will fit. Thanks, John Quote
_shel_ny Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 No problem with posting this here, but you may get more response from the truck side. Not sure if all the truck guys wander over here 1 Quote
Young Ed Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 Yes this should be on the truck side. Your box is the same as the pilot house low side boxes. Depending on how much its going to cost to fabricate new brackets you might be better off to just buy a new tailgate. I don't have any close up shots but I can take some later. Quote
Solution B1B Keven Posted July 9, 2013 Solution Report Posted July 9, 2013 These? http://www.oldpickupparts.com/item.php?INV_ID=427 1 Quote
47dodgepu211 Posted July 11, 2013 Author Report Posted July 11, 2013 Thanks, I think that I can use these. Because there are no holes in tailgaste (all holes welded up) I guess we will wing it a bit as far as vertical height from bottom hingges go.. Even though catalog says 1948 dodge (pilot house?) they look the same as what I had on my 47 WC dodge truck. Thanks, John Quote
