AJ Johnson Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Found a frozen motor & transmission locally. I was thinking about picking it up to tinker with. I figure, worst case I have a boat anchor, best case a motor that I can rebuild without having to take the running motor out of my Coronet. Any thoughts on it? Waste of time, energy, & money? eric wissing Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Heck, there has to be 50 bucks worth of parts on the engine. If local, put a snipe bid on it. Eric Quote
Guest P15-D24 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Yeah, if the crank is good your way ahead of the game. Should be a 230 crank. Quote
47heaven Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Guys....the bid is starting at $50 and it has a reserve, so who knows how much he wants for it (I'm sure it won't be $50). Usually, with a reserve they want a lot, but don't want to show how much...in most cases. Just contact him through Ebay and tell him to cut to the chase and tell you what he really wants for it. This Ebay reserve thing is for the birds! Quote

eric wissing Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I guess it helps to read the details!!( Even when they are in Bold Print) Nevermind. Eric Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Keep an eye on it. When it closes without any bids you can make the deal you want MAYBE. Quote
AJ Johnson Posted May 25, 2007 Author Report Posted May 25, 2007 My thoughts are that it won't sell. There aren't a ton of old Mopar lovers around here & shipping is always a deal killer. I e-mailed him and he is pulling the motor and turning the 1946 into a street rod. I think I will wait until the auction is over and try to work out a deal. AJ Quote
