Hey guys, I have a b4b am considering putting a dropped axle in (Sid's). Does anyone have experience with this and perhaps other issues (clearance, steering etc). Thanks, Gary

Question: What would dropped axle do that taking out a leaf or two wouldn't? I took out a leaf, changed nothing else, got a lower stance and a softer ride.

Below: What does subscribing mean?

The dropped axle would lower the stance 3'' and not affect suspension travel. I would still have the option of removing a leaf to soften the ride and lower the truck further.

I've wondered the same thing because i was thinking of doing this to my '52 at one point. I decided i will put the suspension back together in its original form and then if i want it lowered i'll remove a leaf or two from the springs like "pflaming" described. Did you ask Sid if he knew about any problems you may encounter? I wonder if you would need tie rod end lowering blocks, it looks like he sells the ones for Fords but not Dodges.

I emailed Sid and he had the axle for the dodge but wasn't sure if the blocks (he did have them) would be needed.

I guess worst case would be you get the dropped axle and go to assemble and need the blocks, if he has them then it shouldnt be a big deal to install. I havent seen any threads on this on here lately so you may be blazing the trail. Good luck
