Plymouthy Adams Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 per the Motors manual and it has always been helpful in the past... 1951 could be model C51, C52, C53, C54, C54 ALSO HOLDS TRUE FOR 1952 now if anything like the Plymouth line up, 1951/1952 the engine stamp is P23 for all sixes all models...(P22 is the 111 wheelbase cars but engine is never stamped P22..always P23 also per the Motors the C53 should only be stamped on the 1953 flathead 6 and cross reference back to that years the engine is a 265 and 265 only..unless as Bob states, it has be destroked Quote

As others have stated in the past, that does not mean it went into a vehicle at that time. j That is just when it was cast. Gives you a starting reference of sorts. Quote
fourleaf Posted July 4, 2013 Author Report Posted July 4, 2013 Thank you all for your help! I will do some more research once I pick the car up tommorow from the shop. I can't wait to drive it home finally after all of the hard work. I will look at the casting number by the dipstick as well. It is nice being part of this forum where you can get a wealth of knowledge! Quote
