Olddaddy Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I am planning to run a single 2bbl Holley Weber from Langdon's Stovebolt. I can't reach Tom right now and I have a question. What is the top diameter of the carb where the air cleaner mounts? I want to modify my oil bath air cleaner base to fit the HW carb. I am getting ready to send a bunch of stuff out for powder coating and would like to include this as well. Any measurements, pics etc. would be helpful, and apprciated as always. Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Charlie; Not sure if what you want to do is doable. I am not at home so I cannot do any measuring, However here are a few pictures. Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Charlie, Here's the progressive 2 bbl carb that Tom Langdon recomended I use on my 230 2 bbl intake. Man...it sure has a small primary barrel. The air cleaner he sells has an adapter that fits the oval carb opening. The opening measures approx. 2 7/8" x 4 1/2". I'm not sure I'm going to use it since I found a NOS Carter 2 bbl that fots the studs on my 230 2 bbl manifold. Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Here's the one I'm gonna use instead. It fits the 56 Plymouth 2 bbl manifold. Sorry Ed. Quote

Don- Are your carbs the Holley/Carters? My Holley/Webbers have the diamond shaped throat like the one that Reg posted. Pete Quote

rearview Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I picked up a NOS / vintage rebuilt Stromberg 2bbl a couple months back. Number 3-144, a little surface rust on the butterflies, etc. I may be willing to part with it since I'm probably going a different direction Bob Quote
