Gizzardsniffer Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 One more saved from the crusher! Can't believe I found this sitting all alone at the junk yard waiting on it's turn to be crushed,it looked so sad I just had to bring it home with me.Plus it has all the missing parts I need.I'm thinking 51 or 52 but yall tell me.No motor or trans but cab is solid except floor boards,Fenders not bad either, running boards seem solid, just bent up some. And could someone tell me if thats an original rear view mieeor on the drivers door? All the hubcaps are there with just a few slight dings. What do tou think guys? Gizzardsniffer Posted June 25, 2013 Author Report Posted June 25, 2013 I meant to say original mirro but I can't seem to spell Quote
Apittslife Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 Congrats! New build or just a parts truck? Quote
Gizzardsniffer Posted June 26, 2013 Author Report Posted June 26, 2013 Just a few small parts that I'm missing and hope to find a new home for the rest of it. Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 Great save! Looks like 51/52 to me........pretty certain it's not a 53. The mirror is probably a correct vintage aftermarket item. If it is a 3/4 ton....... and I just can't tell from the photos.......I am still looking for a wheel to use as a spare? Jeff Quote
Gizzardsniffer Posted June 26, 2013 Author Report Posted June 26, 2013 Yep the spare tire and carrier are still there.along with the key still in the ignigion. It's a 1/2 ton short wheel base.Showing 17446 miles, not sure if that's correct or not. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 that peep mirror is not original, was an aftermarket add-on from back in the day as the original mirrors were very flimsy; they bend if'n ya lean on'm to catch yer balance on a windy day. I'm a fan of the west-coast style mirrors, but those cost way more than the peep mirrors. That bumper looks nice...heck, it even looks like the original spare tire carrier is under thar I don't think the stock mirrors were all that flimsy, mine seems to be holding up well and I still have the original, but the mirror ball socket is what's worn out. brian hood Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Wow that's just too cool to part out; however, if you do, I need a spare carrier. What an awesome find! Brian Quote
