The previous owner was looking for a 100 point restoration, so he removed the stake bed and had new crossmembers fabricated, had the stakes powder-coated, and and made new wood bedsides and gate with inlaid wood. All very nice.

However, before he put it back together, he went to bed one night and didn't wake back up. So I now own a spotlessly restored truck with the bed in a hundred pieces. It's a puzzle that I expect to complete years before the other projects are finished.

I have just started a home inspection company as a second career, and may use the truck as a gimmick. Gives me an excuse to drive it, right? Just need to get the doors painted with some '40s lettering.

Still sounds like a neat truck to have fun with. At least everything is done except putting the bed back on. Your idea about using it in the business sounds neat too. Good luck on your new venture, that seems to be an up and coming field to get into now.

Sorry, to hear we lost a fellow Dodge Man.

How rare is that heater??? I have three b-1's and don't see any clues for 'em.
