jimainnj Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Has anyone replaced the rubber door sills on a P15 coupe, with original material or with something else ? any suggestion are welcome. Thanks Jim Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 There's a seller on ebay who makes reproduction door sill rubber. Looks like the original, but is not on a metal backing with the studs as original. I don't think anyone has found anything else to use as a good replacement. If you don't care about being authentic, you could use some sort of roll rubber floor mat material cut to fit and glued down. Quote
_shel_ny Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Thread with some ideas. Some pics missing. (no longer in original PB spot) http://mopar.pairserver.com/p15d24ph_forum/index.php?/topic/7998-homemade-sill-mats-ideas/ Quote
hkestes41 Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 I was not going to pay the Ebay price when I had several other things that needed taken care of, so I went to Home Depot and bought a roll of ribbed vinyl in the flooring department. Cut it to shape and spray glued it down. While it is obviously not the real thing, if you just look quickly it is passable until I can get the real thing. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Multy-Home-Black-27-in-x-72-in-Vinyl-Runner-MT5310063US/100174337 I later found some running board rubber on Ebay that could be used the same way. http://www.ebay.com/itm/200416841509?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Quote

seabee1950 Posted July 15, 2013 Report Posted July 15, 2013 I'm going to make a form out of wood and use Fiberglass to make a useable sill, I have part of one of the old ones to copy off of but won't get to try that till later in the year but I will post when I do good or bad but I will never pay the 400 dollar price off eBay, Quote
Don Jordan Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 I got mine from Steele. I think I may have paid too much but it's a little late now. The first door I really made a mess because I tried to put it on while the door was still attached to the car and I got adhesive on everything. I have one more door and I'm going to take it off and put it on saw horses. It takes patience which I've never had a lot of. I also got the rubber for around the wind wings and window channel. This is a real learning experience for me. Someone posted a youtube video that was informative about the proper way to install the rubber. They make it look so easy. I'm not sure where I saw it but it was on the forum. Quote
