MarkAubuchon Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Does nayone make replacement bed side panels? Quote
Dave72dt Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Not for the high side box. For the low side 1/2 ton box, yes. Several vendors. Bruce Horkey, Mar-K, maybe some others as well. Might even be some longer low sides but don't know for sure. Quote
1952B3b23 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 Just as an aside, Bruce Horkey does good work i have bedsides (low) for my '52 from him and they look great. -Chris Quote
richardb Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 I wish someone would make replacement high sides. The demand is present. Quote
Scruffy49 Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Check the junkyards for 53-85 Utilines. Lengths may be off, but other than that and smooth tailgates versus stamped DODGE centers they are identical. Some came with the third hinge, some didn't, but all the splash pans are drilled for the third hinge, if you have a round fender model just redrill as needed and weld up the excess fender mounting holes... Last year for the angled bed rails was pretty early though, 55 or mid year 56. Later ones with flat rails work better if you plan to haul or use a topper or soft cover but they don't look as neat. There are some smooth replacement high side sized panels out there, but since the factory ones were textured, they won't be a very good match up. Better than going with a flatbed on a half ton, maybe... Quote
1952B3b23 Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 My '52 half ton had a flatbed on it when i bought it and i thought it was uglier than sin, just look at my profile picture. So i would certainly say that a regualr styled bed on a half ton trumps the flatbed any day. But then again thats just my 2 cents Quote
