Trim worth?

I've tracked down a fellow who may have the Dodge script for the front of my '49, can anyone give me a price I should offer for it? He figured he had one in pretty good shape as he says, but when I asked a price, he just said he's open to offers. I hate when people do that! I don't want to offer too low and tick him off, or offer way too much and piddle a pile of cash up a rope! I can't find any of these on eBay, so nothing to compare prices.

They do appear on Ebay from time to time, I have seen them. But before you make your purchase you might also want to try posting a "want advert" to the 49 Plymouth Forum. Likely to be quite a few extras in garages on that site.

Also there is an option in ebay for completed listings. Thats the best way to study prices.

I'd get pictures before getting too excited. I've been locating trim for my '53, and some described as real nice is real junk. All in the eyes of the beholder.

I'll be going past his farm Friday, so I can take a look at it before I pay anything. I'll check out the closed auctions and see if there are any, though $50 sounds abouts right I think.
