My first car to drive was a 48 Plymouth Coupe that my dad had. After he got rid of that I got a 64 Dodge 440 with the push button transmission. Boy I wish I still had that 64 back but now I have the 48 Plymouth Coupe I learned to drive when I was just nine years old around the dairy and back old sheal dusty roads. I always wanted to get the coupe back as memeries of learning how to drive the stick shift and now I still love it.

My first car in 1966 was a 1933 Plymouth. I was drawn to old cars even then. I paid $225 for it which I guess was a tidy sum back then.

Reg, my first car in 1950 when I was 14 was also a four door 33/34 blue Plymouth. Did not take long before I had a rod knock, so I was going to pull and replace the engine. I borrowed a friends dad's chain hoist and used a chain to secure it to a very large limb on a hack berry tree in our back yard. The limb looked to be of adequate size to allow for the removal of the engine. With the engine about 6 inches above the mounts the large limb let go from the trunk of the tree. This would not have been so bad but I had lined the car up with the limb so that it came down dead center of the top from front to rear. Made a total mess of the top and the windshield. I ended up taking the car out to the junk yard and just leaving it there. That is the story of my first car.
