Andydodge Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 Bill, I assume that its a 1968 Plymouth VIP.......lol.......did you know that the VIP badges were used here in Oz from the 1967 Valiant VE series thru to the 1971 Valiant VG series to indicate the top of the range Valiant. The US Plymouth was sold here from 1960 to 1972 as the Dodge Phoenix, only available as a 4dr sedan till 1967 when a 4dr Hardtop also became available, the sedan used the 318 LA series engine only whilst the hardtop was only available with the 383, both engines only with the torqueflite auto. I had a 68 Dodge Phoenix hardtop, neat car, the VIP badges were never used on the Dodge Phoenix tho'. Another bit of trivia.....Chrysler Town & Country badges were used on Oz Valiant Utes in the mid -late 70's........lol......regards, andyd Quote
randroid Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 Gents, Someday, somewhere down the line, I'm going to come up with a tidbit of trivia and everyone's going to look at me as though they were wondering what the color of the sky was on the planet I came from. Thanks, Andy, I treasure those moments. -Randy Quote
eh dubya Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 Chrysler Town & Country badges were used on Oz Valiant Utes in the mid -late 70's but not on the Dodge versions or prewar Dodge Town & Country ute Quote
Andydodge Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 The Dodge badged Utes were the real grocery getters, base models with minimal options from what I've seen and a poverty pack more holes than metal grille.........but whats the pre war Dodge T & C Ute? ......more trivia,...for the 1971-73/4 Valiants the full stainless steel hubcap looked really flash........but undo the little cap in the centre and there it was......."Plymouth Division" in all its glory..........lol.........andyd Quote
eh dubya Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 but whats the pre war Dodge T & C Ute? I made that part up I'm guessing that's what TC denotes... Quote
Roger the Dodger Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 I made that part up I'm guessing that's what TC denotes... TC = Totally Cool :) Quote
Young Ed Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 In 1939 T was the model code for the trucks and C is a 1/2 ton. My 46 dodge 1/2 ton is a WC. Now I'm not sure if that applies to the pictured vehicle but I'm guessing it ties in somehow. Quote
