karl head Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone had experience with using body filler or fiberglass over POR15. Thanks Karl Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 go to the official POR15 web site...these very same question are answered under the support tab..these are the folks to answer the question as they are the folks that warrant the product.. Quote
karl head Posted July 11, 2012 Author Report Posted July 11, 2012 Thanks for the help I did check there site and they do say it can be done. I was hoping someone here had done so . I have been disappointed in the past with claims made by the manufacture. Karl Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 me too..that is why I do not pay an arm and a leg for paint...I am not in a hurry thus the over priced stuff used for production body/collision shop repair is not needed..so why pay the price for a fast working product when you are not working fast...senseless...use your money where it can do you mre good.. chopt50wgn Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 To my knowledge the only primer that can be topcoated with bondo is epoxy primer. I' have been doing body work for over 30 yrs,but I don't do it every day nor do I keep up with all the new stuff. But I also have a good friend who owns a custom paint shop here in my town. He is up on everything new and if I ever have a question ,he has the answer. Quote
55dodgec3 Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I've done body work for years, you can put filler over epoxy primer, but scuff it up abit first, it will stick. To my knowledge, other primers will not hold filler Quote

I do not put filler on bare metal anymore, primer first, and on weld repairs, I use Metal to Metal fillers before light body fillers Quote
