greg g Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Owner got away before I could speak with him. Pretty nice car first time I've seen it out and about. Quote
Roadkingcoupe Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Looks like a 1941 DeSoto 2 Door Sedan Rear bumper reads "DeSoto" so it appears to be a Non Fluid Drive (one of the last years of the manual transmission). Quote
52b3b Joe Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 All 41's said DeSoto on the rear bumper, and 41' was the first year for the optional fluid drive and for the semi auto. This one appears to be a DeLuxe trimed model and pretty barebones with no radio, it doesn't have a full horn ring, and if I'm not mistaken, it doesn't seem to have a heater unless the hoses aren't ran in the stock location. I cant see any heater hoses in the picture. I'd agree with the non-fluid drive based off the options on the car. It does have running boards though, which I think was an option in 41. Quote

Runningboards were standard with an optional delete. Instead of runningboards there was a stainless steel moulding that ran along the rocker where the runningboards would have been. I believe there was also a rubber rear fender guard to protect the leading edge of the rear fender from stone chips. Quote

Thanks for reminding me about that! Quote
