Horn restoration

I took my horn apart to clean it and paint it, and I see there are paper gaskets between each part. Anybody know what thickness the gaskets should be. Mine just fell apart and the parts were in terrible shape. Everthing is dried out and brittle.

I used a thin paper bag to make those gaskets...the gaskets allow the vibrator to move; without them, the horn only makes a buzzing noise. I haven't tried it yet, but if too thick a gasket is used, I reckon the horn wouldn't be very loud.

I used 1/32" gasket material. Tested and sounds horny.
