Robin (UK) Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 I found this picture on a Google search. It's a South African car. There can't be many of these around. Quote
Brad Lustig Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 I'm guessing that would be a D25? I don't think I've seen a convertible since I think most D25s were Canadian market. Quote
Robin (UK) Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 Brad, It's definitely a D25. I don't think the D25s were specifically Canadian models - they were also exported to other countries. This one's probably been in SA since it was new, and I'd guess it's right hand drive. Probably a unique survivor. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Robin, I think you guess right. I see a steering wheel over there...and I could not get seperate production number for the D25 in convertibles..matter of fact I saw only a lump number of all years and models at some 41,000 plus units. Someone may have this data... Quote
RHDSP15C Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 It IS a d24 Los Angeles production made for export RHD Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 D24's have the fender evolving into the door...this is a Plymouth body..the grille is D24 style, as is the hood ornament, the back light has Dodge, dash plaque will have Dodge as does the horn center..the grill might I mention is special and cast not stainless like a true D24... As I have read and been told...might I add...lol Quote
D25_Steve Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 Gorgeous and rare. RHD D25 Convertible, I can't imagine many were produced. Quote
Robin (UK) Posted April 24, 2007 Author Report Posted April 24, 2007 Tim, I've seen a few D25s in the UK and I seem to remember one had a stainless grille (most, as you say, have cast grilles). Didn't get a picture but, if I see it again.... Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 It is a shame that so many years has gone by and the production data is just not available. At this age it is hard to say just what is original, what may be a bit modified along the way. The fact that it is out there, running and still be cared for is the major thing. Convertibles are rare items even here in the states.. Quote
