JIPJOBXX Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 I think this car was way beyond it time when built-whats your opinion? Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Yeah, thats the last Deusenburg. Built in 1938, I think. Quote
Rusty O'Toole Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Phantom Corsair built by Bohmann and Schwartz for Rust Heinz, heir to the Heinz pickle fortune. Used a Cord front drive chassis. He meant to mass produce them but died first. See it in action as the "Flying Wombat". Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Yeah, thats it! Cord parts. I knew it was ACD base and I understood it was made from left over parts after the factory closed. Quote
PatS.... Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I saw the car in person in 1976 in Reno at the Harrah Collection when it was still all together before Bill Harrah died. The car is huge...bigger than a 76 Caddy...longer and wider as they had a Coupe de Ville parked beside it to demonstrate how big it was. Quote
plyroadking Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Beyond its time? probably. But also before the parking brake....... Quote
Robin (UK) Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Clips from 'The Young In Heart'... and a picture from back in the day... Quote
