Alshere59 Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Looking around I found they have 230 motors relatively cheap. Shipping Would add to the price but after rebuilding and engine myself the price doesn't look that bad. Considering machine shop service parts etc. http://www.precisionengine.com/rebuilt-engines/chrysler/index.html Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 I see they are in Houston, TX Sounds like an engine rebuilding business. Don't know any more than that. Quote
james49ply Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 I rebuilt a 1930 DeSoto 194ci "Finer Six" in the spring, rebore, pistons new guides, seals, gaskets, head deck. Had to have the rod wrist pins oversized for the newer pistons (used 201ci pistons as the 194's were $12oo.oo + $100.00 for rings) got the 201's for $34.00 each with rings. The whole shebang was around $1150.00. Cheaper that what they are quoting. Quote
Greenbomb Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 That sounds pretty reasonable. I have $2600+ in my 218 with new pistons and new oil pump. That was using my engine. Like you said, shipping will add to the price. Quote
54Illinois Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 (edited) I have never heard of them. Personally, I would try to deal with someone local. If any problems arise, what do you do...pull the motor and send it in for repair? Never mind, I just read through the warranty. Too many "outs" for the dealer if something goes wrong. Don G 1947 Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 They list the weight as 1895 lbs. Can that be correct???. The entire truck is 3800lbs. Don Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 Must be the added weight of the shipping pallet to get that weight. Quote
Alshere59 Posted January 15, 2012 Author Report Posted January 15, 2012 LB is not the weight it stands for Long Block and that is the price. Quote
54Illinois Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 They want $500 for the core. "No deposit, no return." Quote
