Dennis_MN Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 I removed the front clip today and now I'm ready to begin the detailing. I noticed a couple of items unusual. 1. The horn bracket doesn't seem to be original because of a rust area visible. See Photo 1 Any one have a photo of a correct bracket? 2. I bought a decal kit from Roberts but it didn't come with the decal used on the body of the oil filter. Anyone know where one can be obtained? See photo 2 Photo three is just an overall look Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Here's a closeup of my 52 horn bracket. For the decals try seaplym on eBay. Quote
Dennis_MN Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 Wow, thanks for the picture. Looks easy enough to make another one. I wonder what caused the original to be replaced.. Dennis Quote
bkahler Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Reg, talk about concidences! I just finished reworking the horn bracket on my B3B. The PO had bent the front vertical face to where it was sticking straight out. It took me quite a while to figure out I needed to bend it down to allow the horn to mount correctly. So I did that last Sunday and what do I find today, a picture of what my bracket looks like now At least I now know I did the right thing by bending the bracket. I was actually going to post a picture tomorrow showing how I bent it to see if anyone else had one that looked like that. Thanks for the photo! Brad Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Reg, Your's must be missing the threaded bosses on the horn attachment part. This is from my parts truck. My project truck is missing the bracket altogether. At least now I have one, and a working horn. Merle Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Yeah......and my truck is also missing this. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Well, until you find the ellusive radio, you'll have to print out that picture, cut out the radio face, and tape it in place on the dash. Then just sing along to the tunes in your head and you're all set. Quote
