Here are some pictures of my suspension work. Pictures demonstrate a way to remove the rear shackle, I welded a threaded rod to the front spring pin and used a slide hammer to bang it out, it came out pretty easy. The last is pulling the axle using the drum and two wooden blocks 2 1/4 inch long. You can also use the drum like a slide hammer to pull the axles if they are not stuck.I bought my parts from rare parts who will give us a discount if we give them the customer code 31450 for clubs. Now that my rear end is out of my truck to change seals does it pay to change the gearing from 4.11 to 3.53 ?

We've got a short length of PVC pipe to use instead of the wooden blocks. Works great.

I had one recently, on my parts truck, that I couldn't get out with the slide hammer. I used a couple of 3/8" drive deep sockets behind the drum. It came out pretty good that way too.
