I took old "Dolly Dodge" for a long drive yesterday before I pull the engine next week. She went about 170 miles. We went south to Big Pine (CA), over Westgard Pass to Deep Spring College to visit some friends, then over into Nevada and north through Fish Lake Valley, stopping at Dyer (NV) and the Esmeralda Market for a snack, then north out of Fish Lake and over Montgomery Pass to Benton for Indian Taco Dinner, and home to Chalfant. She burned a quart of oil, but otherwise she did great. Not bad for an old girl that sat and never ran for 31 years and was parked because of a spun bearing, and the only repair to the bearing was to replace it. She ran with those initial repairs for almost two years. Wish me luck with the engine removal. I have never done that before. Anyway yesterday was a good day.

Great pics and sounds like you had a great road trip in the ole Dodge!

Last time I was in Bishop was 1967 in my parents new 67 Buick GS340! Always thought it was a cool town.

Going over the passes (7,000 feet plus) she cruised along in 3rd gear about 25 mph, on te flats we run in 4th gear about 45-50 mph so as not to cause to much stress. When the engine was running good (30+ years ago) she cruised at about 60.
