Thanks to a tip from member :Jersey Harold: I got and nice clean hood and a pile of other things I needed for my 50 dodge at Garys u pull it. They charge $35 for any hood. The hood I got is perfect, straight ,no rust issues I felt like I was robbing them when I paid and loaded it in my van. Wow.

Wish I could find a place like that around northern IL.

I was at the Pick-n-Pull in Dallas a few months back looking for some parts for my daughters Camry when I spied a 55 Plymouth two door. The Poly motor and transmission was still in it but no glass or interior. all that was inside was what looked to be all or most of the chrome.

Stopped and looked at it three or four times. Every time I had the little angle on one shoulder telling me I didn't need another project and had nowhere to put it. The little devil on the other shoulder kept telling me it was the perfect candidate for a straight axle - gasser style build, at a very reasonable price too.

The angle finally won out, well the angle and the thought of my wife doing me in once I went to sleep that night.

Their site says they have over 1800 "parts packed" vehicles. The blanket price list is interesting, but doesn't shed much light on their inventory. Other than the obvious that they at least had one "old" car, do they have a lot of older vehicles? I go through Binghampton often enough to warrant a visit, even if only to wander through the yard.

I've been to Gary's quite a few times while going back and forth to visit my kids in college in Western NY. They've always had at least a few old cars of varying makes and models, and their menu pricing makes for some pretty good deals. I posted a thread about the 1950 Dodge when I saw it because I thought it might benefit the members of this forum.
