ggdad1951 Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 sorry, but this truck guy knows these were the same for the cars. Do any of you car guys have one available? The one I have is frozen and I haven't been able to free up the valve stem. thanks gallery of the attempt at rebuilding one: http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/x365/ggdad1951/heater%20control%20valve%20fresh%20air%20option/ Quote
Robert Horne Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 If you are not able to repair or replace your valve, Napa has a manual type valve, #660-1141, about $20 that may suit your needs. I believe the Napa one is listed as a 71 Dodge Truck. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 I kinda get the impression he is not looking to get a different valve, wants one like the one pictured that is working or at least be able to free his old one up..maybe he is asking folks out ther if they have one sitting around on a parts cars or something that can verify application or maybe source their spare.. ggdad1951 Posted November 8, 2011 Author Report Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) I kinda get the impression he is not looking to get a different valve, wants one like the one pictured that is working or at least be able to free his old one up..maybe he is asking folks out ther if they have one sitting around on a parts cars or something that can verify application or maybe source their spare.. yes, I am looking to aquire one that works. I am doing a resto and a new valve just won't be correct. If you've got one sitting around you can part with/have a source for one that would be great! I'd REALLY prefer one that has a free moving valve, even if it leaks. The construction of these valves really don't lend themselves well to rebuilding the valve stem area of the valve. thanks. BobT-47P15 Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 This type is seen on ebay from time to time, but you just have to keep watching on an ongoing basis. I found this one at a swap meet. Have had these on most old Mopars owned......... New ones at O'Reilly, and probably others. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted November 8, 2011 Author Report Posted November 8, 2011 thanks for the alternate options guys. For the short term I'll use a modern one when I get to that part of my resto, but long term I want the right one. But as I said, I'm looking for an original that I can try to refurb into a working piece or at least a contact to where I might find such a critter. thanks. Quote
