B1B Keven Posted October 24, 2011 Report Share Posted October 24, 2011 What is the correct switch for our B series trucks? Should they have a 5 sided key as shown in the pic? The key that came with the truck was a Tayler duplicate from some time in the past, but it worked just fine. Since it was the only key I had I wanted spares. The reason I asked is I met a fella with a '51 Plymouth and he told me the 5 sided key was original, I hoped it would be for my '49. Probably sometime in the past , most or all of the pins in your lock have been removed . A screwdriver in the key slot might even turn the keyway . My truck's original switch turned better with a pen knife that it ever did with the key... And I used to "borrow" my dad's 77 Corolla the same way... austinsailor Posted October 25, 2011 Report Share Posted October 25, 2011 I don't recall if it was the 42 plymouth or 47 dodge 3 ton, but one had an original key which had a round head.
