Jim Roach Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Can anyone tell me how many hooks there should be on each side of the box on a 52 B3B? Thanks all, Jim Raoch Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 I don't think the trucks came from the factory with any hooks. Mine had holes drilled on each side for 4 so I installed that many to fill the holes. At least 2 on each side would do the trick for most jobs. Quote
Don Coatney Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Reg; I like your fender step. I see Ford is now advertising a "new" tailgait step for there pickups. They must have seen your picture and re-vamped it. Quote
Jim Roach Posted April 12, 2007 Author Report Posted April 12, 2007 Thanks Reg, I knew you would come through for me, and it gives us another chance to see your truck. Thanks again, Jim Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Yeah...I guess Ford has been copying Dodge for decades. Actually that fender step is really meant for the tall side boxes I think. If ya look close at the photo you'll see a speaker magnet at the bottom of the step helping it pose for the photo. Hey...how come nobody has teased me about the chrome fender welt? Better hurry cause it's going soon. Quote
1952gary Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 My 52 has only two per side. They are mounted on the underside of the flare at an angle at each end of box. This appears to be the only holes drilled in this original truck. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 My truck had a couple of ring type tie points, on the inside of the bed, attached to the bolts that hold the sides to the front panel. Quote
Mike Meade Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 My 48 has 3 on each side and 2 on each end,I just had them powder coated glossy black.Mike Quote

Reg, for what it's worth the chrome fender welt doesn't look all that bad.(just my 2 1/2 cents) But if you're going for a true blue restoration then the chrome's gotta go. Just out of curiosity, where did you get that chrome welting? I might want to use some on my truck if it's still available. Dave Quote
