TodFitch Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Viewed from the front of the car, the crankshaft rotates clockwise. So the flywheel rotates clockwise and any gear in contact with it (i.e. the starter gear) will turn the opposite direction (counter-clockwise). Quote

1941Rick Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Left, right, clockwise and counter clockwise for auto's and machinery is always viewed from the operators seat....Don is correct polarity is not an issue for a starter and it will rotate in the opposite direction of the flywheel...... I have the MCH-6205 starter, but was wondering what way my starter turns. I assume my 6205 also turns clockwise? Confused.......
